With a total of 41 attendees, this year the Kansas Chapter had the highest attendance to a National Convention in recorded chapter history. This year’s convention was held at Moscone Center South in San Francisco, CA. The convention began with the annual Board of Governors meeting. The Governors took action on a number of items that will allow NECA to continue to move the industry forward. Members of NECA can expect to see increased opportunities for online training as well as an organized effort to pursue more favorable terms in Category I language and National Agreements with the IBEW.
During the convention, Members attended courses on business management, labor relations, leadership and communication, project management, standards and safety, and technology innovation. The chapter dinner was held at the Park Tavern Restaurant where everyone joined together for delectable food and good company. The convention was brought to a close with an outstanding performance by Kenny Loggins. Convention guests were able to “cut footloose” late into the evening. If this sounds like an event you just can’t miss next year, we hope to see familiar faces and some new faces in Boston.
The services that NECA provides give members more opportunities. NECA is dedicated to enhancing the industry by continuing education, administering labor relations, monitoring developing legislation and more.
