Kenneth “Kenny/Bud” Barnhart was laid to rest on February 24, 2017, at the Eastside Cemetery in Hutchinson, Kansas. Kenneth was sworn into the Army at the outbreak of World War II, in Leavenworth. It was in the army that he learned his trade as an electrician. He served at Norwich, England until Germany surrendered. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Hutchinson and was hired as the City Electrician. Kenneth opened Kenny’s Electric in 1959, a family business that has been handed down from generation to generation. To honor its founder, Kenny Electric employees parked their work vehicles along the road with an American flag proudly raised on one of the cranes.
